How to File ITR-01 through Web-e-Tax?

So, if you are an individual having income up to Rs. 50 lakhs with the means of income from salary/pension, from one house property, and other sources, then you are eligible to file ITR-01, but the NRIs are not allowed to file the same. Start Filing Your ITR-01 through Web-E-Tax Now

As soon as you get into the process of filing ITR-01, it is a must to take a look at the documents required to file ITR-01 beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.

Documents Required To File ITR-01 Are As Follows:

  • Aadhaar Card

  • PAN Card

  • Form 16/16A

  • Bank account details

  • Investments details

For filing the ITR through Web-e-Tax Software users need to follow five steps that are mentioned below:

  1. In the first step, Create the assessee master details for which you want to file the ITR and the Assessee Master contains basic information like Name, PAN, Address, Date of Birth, and select the Source of Income also, In the 2nd section provide the Bank Details of the assessee/taxpayer then click on save to save the assessee master details.

    • Creation of Assessee master data will be a one-time process. No need to create an assessee master for every Assessment year in Web-e-TAX software.

    • An option has been provided in the Assessee master to import the master details through a Prefilled JSON file from the income tax portal.

  2. In the next step, select the created assessee master from the list (Shortcut Key-F3).

  3. After the selection of assessee master, Click on Computation to fill in the income details and deduction details.

    And in the computation page of the assessee, the tax will be calculated as per both tax regimes.

  4. In the computation, double click on any head in which you want to fill the income details of the assessee like the income from salary, income from House Property, and in the other heads of income also.

  5. Similarly, provide the deduction details and as per the income and deduction details in the software, the tax will be calculated as per the slab rates. And in the computation, your tax will be calculated as per both the tax regimes for the tax comparison.

  6. After providing all the income and exemption details, go to the Generate & Upload JSON without DSC (Ctrl G) option to generate the JSON file and directly upload it on the income tax portal.
